ISO 22000 Foof safety management system

ISO 22000 is an international standard that specifies requirements for food safety management system that unifies the procedure in this regard. It includes requirements for companies involved in the food chain. A standard is thus directed to food manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, food and hospitality industry / restaurant and affiliated companies, such as dealing with: transportation, distribution, warehousing, manufacturing, packaging, and materials in contact with food, etc.
What is included in the standard ISO 22000: 2005
ISO 22000 combines the requirements of hygiene in food products from:
* HACCP system requirements (in accordance with Codex Alimentarius) and
* Best Practices (Productive, hygiene, catering, distribution, etc.)
* Management system
* Communication in the food chain
* Control of the process.
ISO 22000 requires that the implementing organization:
* Identifies the programs to provide adequate pre-production environment,
* Identifies all the risks to food safety
* Manages all identified hazards, particularly those which have been regarded as critical,
* Measures, and monitors the results of risk management through operational programs and plans for HACCP
* Identifies the hazards during the production process and takes corrections and corrective actions,
* Validates effectiveness of measures to monitor the identified risks
* Implements a system for dealing with complaints,
* Implements a procedure to deal with a non-compliant product - both inside and outside the company.
* Identifies and fulfills all legal regulations.
